This in-home engagement in Kitchener comes a bit late as we shot it back in July. It’s one of my many favourite sessions from last year because I got to capture these two in their own element—at home! There’s just something about being in the comfort of your own home for your engagement session that lets you be a little more yourself.

Kari had amazing ideas for what she wanted (thank you Pinterest!) but we also made our own magic that made it so natural. You could tell Kari & Ralph were just enjoying themselves, being as silly as they normally are while also sharing some sweet moments in between.

I love that they incorporated so much of them into these photos. Playing video games together, drinking some rosé, dancing in the kitchen… They really showed the beauty in the mundane. These are the photos that they will definitely enjoy looking back on and say, “This was totally us back then!”

As good as they looked being comfortable at home, they were both as elegant in their suit and gown when we went outdoors to a nearby park. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding this coming summer!
