This beautiful engagement session took place at the Beach at Oakville Lakeshore. With it being the beginning of fall, I’m already missing the hot summer weather and definitely not looking forward to the winter as our shooting season started off so late.

This session I had with Lynne and Matt in August has to be my absolute favourite ever! Though it feels like I say that about every session, this one really stood out for me.

Lynne and Matt were supposed to be having their engagement photos shot at the Amalfi Coast in Italy. On the same trip, they planned to do their tasting at the venue they would have been getting married at this year. Sadly, because of the pandemic, their plans had to be changed.

Although they postponed their wedding to next year, they’re still having their destination wedding at the Amalfi Coast. However, they now had to find someone in the city to do their engagement session. Luckily, they stumbled upon me! Lynne found me on Instagram. After some exchanges, the date was set for their Oakville Lakeshore engagement session.

We took a walk through the gardens and made use of all the beautiful spots around the harbour and the beach. No matter where you looked, it was picture perfect and the light we got throughout the day was magical. We had the perfect sunset and were blessed with cotton candy skies once the sun disappeared. To say I’m obsessed is an understatement from the gorgeous photos we got that night in August.

Matt and Lynne live downtown Toronto but they both grew up not far from this location in Oakville.

Growing up in Vancouver, it gives me all the feels when couples take me to the beach for their session. A flood of memories come back and it makes these beach sessions that much more special for me. It may not be the Amalfi Coast, but it’s definitely the most gorgeous backdrop they could choose in Ontario.
