We had Alexa and Jake’s engagement session at the end of November in downtown Cambridge, right across the Cambridge Mill, where their wedding in the summer will also be held.
Apart from the contrast of the backgrounds in their engagement and (upcoming) wedding photos, we also thought it would be fun to explore the rest of the Galt area that we wouldn’t be able to get to on the wedding day.
It was a chilly day out for a Cambridge engagement session, but they braved the cold anyway. The overcast sky actually makes for a more romantic light and mood. In the end, it worked out in their favour because we got some extra snuggly photos out of it. I love how open they were to all the poses and prompts I gave them, these two really allowed their emotions to come out in these photos. Something I’m so passionate about as a photographer.
Jake currently lives in New York and this being one of the rare moments they’re together, made what we captured here more special. I can’t wait for their big day coming up this August! Enjoy the photos 🙂
